STATE-BY-STATE TEMPORARY CHANGES
The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators have compiled a state-by-state list of the temporary changes. You can access this document by a link from their home page, https://www.aamva.org/
PENNDOT WEIGHT EXEMPTION FOR CARRIERS OF EMERGENCY MATERIAL
PENNDOT issued for certain vehicles carrying emergency supplies an exemption from the “[r]equirement to comply with weight limitations and permitting for certain motor carriers on all roadways and bridges except bridge restrictions noted in the special conditions” listed in that exemption (PENNDOT Exemption 2020-13)
AS ALWAYS, READ THE ENTIRE EXEMPTION for the list of what loads qualify and what limitations are on the locations.
The exemption lists the types of loads to which it applies. These are generally those related to this emergency. The exemption provides for an increased max load of 90,000 lbs. It does NOT apply:
- On any bridge or roadway with size or weight restrictions posted.
- On structures spanning the Delaware River between the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey under the jurisdiction of the Delaware River Port Authority or the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission. Contact information for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission is 1-800-363-0049 and Delaware River Port Authority is 1-877-567-3772.
- On structures spanning the Delaware River between the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey under the jurisdiction of the Burlington County Bridge Commission. Contact information for the Burlington County Bridge Commission is 1-856-829-1900.
The exemption begins: April 3, 2020 at 1159 (11:59 AM) and ends on June 2, 2020 at 2359 (11:59 PM)

FMCSA STATEMENT PER SHELTER-IN-PLACE ORDERS OF
STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS
The FMCSA has issued a statement with regard to the state and local shelter-in-place orders for consideration of these government entities in issuing such orders. These include Homeland Securities identification of essential workers and CDC guidance for drivers.

TSA TEMPORARY HAZMAT EXEMPTION
TSA is granting a temporary exemption from requirements in 49 CFR part 1572 regarding expiration of TSA security threat assessments (STAs) for Hazardous Material Endorsement (HME) holders.
